Miami, September 3- 2019-The Haitian American Nurses Association of Florida, Inc. (HANA) would like to thank the community at large for their continuous support and expressing concerns for the well-being of our brothers and sisters in the wake of the devastation of Hurricane Dorian severely affecting the Northern Region of the Islands of the Bahamas. HANA of Florida has been monitoring the situation closely and is in communication with local organizations and in collaboration with Man Dodo Humanitarian Foundation, and Reciprocal Ministries International (RMI) to plan an extended relief effort as soon as possible.
HANA of Florida is immensely grateful to the community for their generosity and willingness to always be there for our brothers and sisters. At this time HANA is accepting donations of essential supplies at CMS International located at 3333 NW 168 street Miami, FL 33056. Monetary donations can be made via PayPal at the HANA of Florida website at www.hanaofflorida.org to help with execution of the relief efforts on the ground in the Bahamas.
The Haitian American Nurses Association of Florida, (HANA) is a 501c (3) non-profit membership organization founded in 1984. The Mission of HANA of Florida is to provide nurses the opportunity to unite as a group, to share and provide ideas of interest, and to become effectively involved with the issues and services relevant to the health and welfare of communities in Florida and abroad. HANA provides health education to the community on chronic diseases. HANA of Florida collaborates with other organizations in the community locally and nationally in disaster relief as well as promoting health and wellness education and disease prevention by providing culturally and linguistically sensitive health education and resources.
