Haiti Earthquake Press Release August 14-2021

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 

HANA support for Earthquake Victims of HAITIMiami, Florida-The Haitian American Nurses Association of Florida, Inc. (HANA) is deeply saddened by the devasting news of the 7.2 magnitude earthquake that struck the southwest region of our beloved homeland Haiti on Saturday morning. HANA of Florida sends sincere condolences and prayers to the families of all who have lost their lives and all who are directly impacted by this disaster. We would like to thank the community for the outpour of calls and offers of support. HANA of Florida would like to ensure the community that we are closely monitoring the development as they unfold. We are in close communication with our partners in Haiti as we reach out to our local organizations to strategize, collaborate, and plan effective immediate and extended relief efforts.

HANA of Florida is immensely grateful to the community for their generosity and willingness to always be there for our brothers and sisters in Haiti. Currently, HANA is accepting monetary donations via the HANA website at www.hanaofflorida.org, CashApp $HANAofFL, or PayPal to help with the immediate execution of efforts on the ground. In the coming days and weeks as new developments unfold, HANA will inform the community of our efforts.

The Haitian American Nurses Association of Florida, (HANA) is a 501c (3) non-profit membership organization founded in 1984. The Mission of HANA of Florida is to provide nurses the opportunity to unite as a group, to share and provide ideas of interest, and to become effectively involved with the issues and services relevant to the health and welfare of communities in Florida and abroad. HANA provides health education to the community on chronic diseases. HANA of Florida collaborates with other organizations in the community locally and nationally in disaster relief as well as promoting health and wellness education and disease prevention by providing culturally and linguistically sensitive health education and resources.

2021 Haiti Earthquake

HANA support for Earthquake Victims of HAITIOn August 14, 2021, a 7.2 magnitude earthquake had struck our beloved land of Haiti.  We at the Haitian American Nurses Association of Florida, Inc. are saddened by this devastating news and are praying for the people of Haiti in the entire country for swift recovery of all who are impacted in the rubbles.

We pray for strength, comfort, guidance, and the mental wellness of all affected.

HANA Hurricane Matthew Relief effort-Haiti

Dear Members,

As you all know Hurricane Matthew made land fall in Haiti in the early morning hours. We started Hurricane Relief effort last night with Man Dodo and several others community organizations to plan a strategic relief operations. We will need the help of all members to supervise medications sorting at the warehouse and also to sort donations given. We need to get ready as much supply as possible by the end of the week, please donate medications and supplies. Medications sorting is ongoing as of today in the warehouse from 9am-9pm. Medications sorting and donations drop off location CMS Warehouse:
