HANA: Celebrating 30 Years of Service, Collaboration, Leadership and Excellence
The Goal:
The goal of the 3rd Annual HANA Convention is to mobilize Haitians nurses, Haitian American Nurses and other nurses as Change Agents to analyze and integrate the Institute of Medicine (IOM) Report on the Future of Nursing: Leading Change, Advancing Health. As a result of attending this convention, nurses will be transformed, engaged and empowered while addressing professional nursing practice, global health and nursing education in Haiti.
Objectives:
- Identify strengths and weaknesses in nursing education and health care in Haiti.
- Analyze current trends and paradigm shifts in nursing education and methods of healthcare delivery in international settings.
- Explore the values and benefits of cultural diversity in promoting cultural competent care.
- Reflect with other chapter members and partners to advance nursing practice and improve health care globally.
- Discuss the implementation of the Affordable Care Act and the role of nurses in the delivery of care.
- Embrace the use of Technology in nursing in promoting the delivery of health care.
- Review and analyze the pitfalls and effective use of social media in nursing practice.
- Empower nurses to lead change effectively.
